In the Spotlight: Chad Finchum

If you're a race fan in Tennessee or in a neighboring state maybe you have heard of the name Chad Finchum.
Born on September 22nd 1994, Chad Finchum was raised and still resides in Knoxville, Tennessee. He grew up in a die-hard NASCAR family. Just like many others across the country, this family were big fans of the one and only, legend Dale Earnhardt Sr.
Finchum was mostly like any other six year old playing the usual standard sports until one day he found a go-kart for sale in the local newspaper. Kids, if you don't know what a newspaper is ask your parents. Out of curiosity young Chad talked his dad, James Finchum, into going to take a look at it. They bought it, took it home, and shortly after he was entered into his first ever race.
Although they knew not one thing about the competition side of racing, Finchum went on to win his first race ever competed in. He raced go-karts for six years winning countless races and some championships.

In 2013, Finchum won his first NASCAR Whelen Late Model race at Kingsport Speedway's season opener. He went on to win the 2013 late model championship at his hometown track in his first full time season competing in late models.

He competed in late models at Kingsport Speedway and other tracks for several years acquiring many prestigious awards and championships.
Chad Finchum was given a chance in the big leagues in 2016 while racing for Martin-McClure Racing in the K&N series. He won that year's race at what more fitting track than Bristol Motor Speedway.

This win propelled his career to where he is today. Chad currently races full time for MBM Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
